How to measure my dog
Harnesses (chest size)
Measure the dog’s chest behind the front legs and with a measuring tape
For Padded Harnesses and Casual Padded Harnesses
- The size indicated refers to the length of the vertical tape (the band that wraps around the chest).
- For the Outdoor model we recommend a size 10 cm larger than the dog’s actual chest.
- For the Casual model we recommend a size 5 cm larger than the dog’s actual chest.
- These harnesses can be adjusted to the chest.
For Padded Y-Harnesses and Casual Y-Harnesses
- The harness size indicates its maximum size on the chest.
- For the Outdoor model we recommend the first size after the dog’s exact chest size
- For the Casual model we recommend the size which includes the actual chest value of the dog.
- These harnesses can be adjusted to the chest.
For Active, Adventure, Dazzle, Venture, Weekend Warrior harnesses
- The size indicates the minimum and maximum possible adjustment for the harness.
- For this model, the size to buy is the one that includes the exact chest value of the dog.
- These harnesses can be adjusted both on the neck and on the chest.
For X-Sport towing harnesses
- The harness size indicates its size on the chest.
- Being a traction model, this harness has no adjustment.
Collars (neck size)
Take the measurement in the center of the neck with a measuring tape (see photo).
For Standard Collars (all models)
- A large collar set to the minimum is safer and more comfortable than a small one set to the maximum.
- If your dog’s neck is 35cm, use a 35-45 set to the minimum in place of a 25-35 fully open.
For Half-Choke Collars
- The minimum collar size must be equal to or slightly larger than the circumference of the dog’s neck.
- The maximum size of the collar must be greater than the circumference of the head.
Cooling Vests
The Neckline
Measurement should be taken at the base of the neck, this being the widest point of the neck. The neckline of an overall can be larger than the circumference of the dog’s neck, as it can be adjusted to fit a smaller neck.
The Chest
Measurement should be taken at the widest point of the chest, from behind the front legs. To ensure sufficient freedom of movement, the chest of an overall should be wider than the dog’s chest.
Indicative size chart by breed:

Protective garments (back measurement)
- Search with your finger for the lowest point between the dog’s shoulders.
- That is the starting point of the measurement you need.
- Start there (not the neck) and continue stopping at the root of the tail.
- Our garments have different collars and are not included in the size.
- You must never include the base of the neck in the measurement.
For Jackets
The size of the back is the only one that needs to be taken.
For Overalls
Also check the code that follows the size number and that indicates the dog’s build:
- XS = long dogs with short legs (dachshund, corgi, drever and others)
- S = toy and dwarf dogs (chihuahua, pinscher, yorkshire, poodle, maltese, jack russel and others)
- M = dogs with standard builds (all breeds not included in the other classifications)
- L = slender dogs with long legs and runners (greyhounds, whippet, chinese crested dog, podengo ibicenco)
- Example size 30XS: 30 = 30cm back, XS = long with short legs (a dachshund)
- Example size 55M: 55 = 55cm back, M = standard build (a golden retriever)
- Example size 70L: 70 = 70cm back, L = slender with long legs (a greyhound)
